GWALLAMEJI RESIDENTS DECRY REFUGEE POLLUTION
The resident of Gwallameji community
expresses themselves on dumping of dirt in their environment which draws the
attention of the residents and students living in the environment.
This
issue of dumping of waste openly in the environment it is alarming which will
also course health challenges to the resident and student in the community.
In
an interview with a student at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, a resident in the
gwallameji village express himself about the issue of dirt in the environment
which he said, the student face this challenges because the dirt brings
mosquitoes which causes malaria, fever among others. He also said that, the
Government should intervene by making sure the environmental health officers
adhere to their jobs making sure that dirt are burnt every last Saturday of the
month diligently.

Abdul a student also said, the community leaders in person of Sarkin Gwallameji
should assign a different sanitation day apart from the one we observe every
last Saturdays of the month. The community leaders should come together and
provide a waste bin CAN in every house in the community and make sure that it
been burnt every week. This will help to reduce the dumping of refuge around
the environment, she also mentioned that the community leaders should create
awareness by educating the residence to stop dumping refugees around their
environment, by enlightening them about what this dirt can cause to their
health.
According
to Abdulkarim Hassan, a resident in the gwallameji community shades more light
on this issue, which he said people can join their heads together to keep the
community clean not until they are been ask to. He said cleanness is good in
the sight of God, he encourage that we
can set an example by doing the needful by cleaning the environment
voluntarily.
