A UK-based Nigerian doctor, Dr Kelvin Alaneme, was secretly filmed by the British Broadcasting Corporation in an undercover investigation, allegedly selling fake job opportunities to foreign nationals. According to a BBC documentary, Dr Alaneme, a psychiatrist who had worked for the National Health Service, is the founder of CareerEdu, an agency based in Harlow, Essex. The BBC stated that it launched its undercover investigation following a series of online complaints about his service. According to the report, CareerEdu describes itself as a “launchpad for global opportunities catering to young Africans” and claims to have 9,800 “happy clients.” The investigation revealed that Dr Alaneme attempted to recruit the BBC journalist, believing she had strong connections in the UK care sector. The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) says it is intensifying efforts to standardise locally manufactured products, including Made-in-Aba brands, in order to enhance both local and international acceptance. SON’s Director of Region (South East), Aharanwa Chuks, communicated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja. Prince Harry is “heartbroken” to quit his Sentebale charity. The Duke of Sussex and his co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, issued a joint statement Wednesday describing their “devastating” decision.
